Maggi So Juicy Seasoning Bags

Our family has had the privilege of trying Maggi So Juicy Seasoning Bags because I'm a BzzAgent! You can try these seasoning bags when you find them at your local grocery store. We started with chicken in the bags and next week I'm hoping to try a pork recipe! If you tried these would you use pork or chicken? Or, do you have another suggestion? #BzzAgent #Gotitfree

Anxiety....

So before bed last night there was information about the government reaching an agreement to put everyone in their system back to work...and good grief. The stories already about the earmarking (bribes) just boils my blood...and the truth is so many friends are having difficulty signing up for this healthcare thing--and I've not seen one single person say that the healthcare bill will help their family.

I do know that raising the debt ceiling in order to incur more debt does not fix the fundamental economic problem we have in America.

I do know that some point, if more people are TAKING from the government in the form of food stamps, disability payments, housing and healthcare than are PAYING for the goods, the system will crash.

I also know that if real Americans who had to balance their family's money, drag their family out of debt or keep their family from overspending were in charge of the government, there would be a lot less waste and a little more responsibility.

But hey....I'm just a mom who, right now, is really disappointed that elected officials seem to think the answer to our problems is more spending (Obamacare), more taxing (Obamacare), and more debt (raising the ceiling).

In the meantime, you'll find us working hard to chop some more from our budget in order to cover the 10% rise in our health insurance premiums. (Which have doubled, for the same coverage, for the same number of people, in the last 6 years...literally. 100% more than it cost in 2007.)

And today's discussion in our family devotional was exactly what I needed to hear....part of the sermon on the Mount where the Savior explains to us that the anxiety we feel just isn't necessary....that He's promising He will care for us, love us, and keep us safe.

So today....although I'm disappointed and somewhat concerned (anxious) about where our government and country are headed....I'm choosing to keep calm.

Most Things Mercer

It's been nearly a month since I last posted over at www.savingcentsably.com, and I miss it....writing and sharing with you guys about our lives....hearing your encouraging words and knowing there are others walking on the same path we are on is so wonderful!

I asked a lot of friends for help in naming our new blog--and it turns out I'd suggested the most popular name inadvertently! So here we are, at MostThingsMercer.

In the days to come I'm looking forward to interacting with you in a new place, sharing our stories as we walk down this road of homeschooling, live through the challenges of following the Lord in today's culture, laugh about the successes (and failures) of parenting, and as we take each step toward welcoming another child into our family.

Not much about our lives is how we'd imagined--but from the homeschooling to the ministry, from the canning to the couponing, from the children to the child yet to be--it's all "Most Things Mercer."
